Recycling is a very labor intensive business. Much of the labor costs involved are a result of sorting materials. You can help by sorting your recyclables in the following manner before transporting them to Python's Recycling:

PUBLIC SERVICES

PROPER PREPARATION
OF
RECYCLABLES
  • ALUMINUM - Cans that are empty, clean, and dry - whole or flattened

                       Unacceptable: dirty, wet/icy, burnt cans, tin foil

 

  • TIN - Food cans that are empty, clean, and dry - whole or flattened with labels off

             Unacceptable: dirty, wet/icy, burnt cans, screw on lids, scrap metal

 

  • GLASS - *Bottles and Jars ONLY - Beverage and food containers that are empty, clean, dry, caps removed, unbroken, and separated by                 color (green, blue, brown, and clear)

                 Unacceptable: light bulbs, mirrors, windows, dishes and glassware, ceramic, procelian, clay, safety glass, windshields

 

  • PLASTIC - *#s 1, 2, 5 ONLY - Rigid plastic beverage and food containers that are empty, clean, whole, or flattened. Caps and lids must be               removed. One gallon or less in size. Oil, antifreeze, and additive containers must be drained, and clean of all fluids.                               *Management will inspect these materials to judge acceptable conditions.  

                   Unacceptable: hard plastic, plastic bags, toys, hose, caps, pipe, food containers (such as yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.). Ice                          cream buckets must have all metal handles removed

 

  • NEWSPRINT - Must be clean, dry. Can be bagged, boxed, or bundled.

                        Unacceptable: dirty, wet/icy, burnt, any materials that did not actually come with the newspaper

 

  • CORRUGATED PAPER - Brown packaging boxes that have corrugations within its construction. Must be clean, dry, whole or flattened

                                   Unacceptable: Corregated that has been cut into pieces, dirty, wet/icy, burnt. *Cereal, cake mix, boxed food                                              packaging, and soda/pop containers are fiberboard (see next category)

 

  • FIBERBOARD - Cereal, cake mix, boxed food packaging, soda/pop containers are considered fiberboard. Must be clean, dry, flattened with                     liners removed.

                         Unacceptable: dirty, wet/icy, burnt, corrugated paper combined with fiberboard

 

  • CATALOGS & MAGAZINES - *GLOSSY PAPER ONLY - Must be clean, dry. Can be bagged, boxed, or bundled. Each catalog and/or magazine                                       must be 1/2 inch thick or less. Catalogs that are thicker than 1/2 inch must be torn down to size. 

                                           Unacceptable: dirty, wet/icy, burnt. *Non-glossy paper (see next categories)

 

  • HARDCOVER BOOKS - *NON-GLOSSY PAPER ONLY - Must be clean, dry. Can be bagged, boxed, or bundled. 

                                    Unacceptable: dirty, wet/icy, burnt.

 

  • PAPERBACK BOOKS - *NON-GLOSSY PAPER ONLY - Must be clean, dry. Can be bagged, boxed, or bundled.                                                                            Unacceptable: dirty, wet/icy, burnt.

 

  • OFFICE PAPER - Must be clean, dry. *Please ask for more information regarding this category.
